Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky has revealed the Championship club came extremely close to competing a switch for Ahmed Musa from Leicester City on Transfer Deadline Day.
Slutsky and Musa have previously worked together at Russian giants CSKA Moscow and the latter tried to use their relationship to lure the Super Eagles winger to the KCOM Stadium.
However, the Russian coach admitted that the deal was close to been finalized, but it was the Nigerian's decision to remain at the King Power Stadium.
“We came very close to Musa. But not each decision depends on me or the club. I think maybe he wants to prove himself at Leicester and he needs one more attempt. He thought a lot and finally his decision was to stay at Leicester," he said on

“The final decision was at midday on deadline day and we didn’t have a chance to change Musa for another option.”
Musa, 25-year-old, joined Leicester City in July in 2016 for a club record fee of £16.6m, but failed to live to expectations in his first campaign in the Premier League following his stellar seasons at CSKA Moscow.
