D'Tigress point guard Ezinne Kalu says Nigeria have the chance to do well at the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain.

Kalu is reacting to the draw for this year's finals, which sees Nigeria pitted alongside Australia, Turkey and Argentina in Group B of the biggest women's basketball game.

The 25 years old Vasas Akademia of Hungary player believes D'Tigress have "a big chance" of qualifying from the group stage of the competition.

"I like the group that we are in. It's a tough group but I think we have a great chance at making it to the next round," she said on FIBA official website.

"We have played against Turkey so we know what to expect. At the time we were fresh, very new to each other and still learning the ropes of playing as a team.

"We have seen Argentina play. However, we haven't seen Australia play. Bottom line, I think we have a big chance."

This year's edition will be played between September 22nd and 30th and it gives Nigeria the opportunity to surpass their outing 12 years ago.

In Brazil 2006, the country failed to register a win in the group phase after losing to China, Russia and USA before Senegal beat them in the classification game to finish 16th.
