President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has said that it will now shift focus to the Super Falcons following the team's inactivity since 2016.

Pinnick said this in responding to heavy criticism that the Falcons have not been called to camp or played together after winning the Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Cameroon last year.

Admist the unpleasant situation, the NFF boss tendered an apology to the ladies, while admitting the federation had been busy with the Super Eagles during their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

"I apologise to them publicly - we have been trying to intensify our efforts in rebuilding the Super Eagles [Nigeria's men's team] which we have done," he told BBC Sports

"Now we have secured the services of a foreign coach from America [Randy Waldrum] who is going to resume next week.

"We have lined up a couple of matches for them and I have apologised to them because the truth is we wanted to concentrate on the [World Cup] qualifiers [for the men] which was quite intense."
