Chairman of the Save Women's Football Foundation, Moses Bako has commended Nigeria's Super Falcons despite losing to Ghana in yesterday's WAFU Women's Cup semifinal game.
Nigeria were made to settle for a third-place match against Mali after going down, 5-4 on penalties to Ghana following a 1-1 draw on regular time.
Bako who is also a women's football advocate, has urged the players to make amends for their disappointment with a win over the Malians.
"I want to give kudos to this young Nigerian team for getting to the semifinals of the maiden WAFU Women's Cup," said the former Kogi state lawmaker on

"Losing to a team like Ghana through penalties is understandable, because I (in particular) didn't expect much from them going into the competition.
"They were called to camp with few weeks to the commencement of the tournament and yet, the ladies were able to give a good account of themselves in the end.
"At this point, I want them to forget about the defeat to Ghana and see that they beat Mali in the third-place match on Saturday," he added.
The Nigerian side under the guidance of Swede coach Thomas Dennerby will next compete in the 2018 Alanya Gold City Women's Cup which begins in Turkey on February 26th.
