Ghana's U20 women's national football team will today begin preparations for the 2018 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in France.

Ghana who are pitted with hosts France, Netherlands and New Zealand in Group A of the global soccer event, will be camped at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

Head coach of the Black Princesses, Yusif Basigi has named his provisional squad of 31 home-based and six foreign players that are billed to hit the ground running at their camp base.

The list of 37 players will be trimmed down to 35 for official submission before coach Basigi picks his final 21-player squad that will represent the country at the finals.

The tournament will be played between the 5th and 24th of August across four cities and it will also see Nigeria as the other African representative.

Ghana's provisional squad:

Goalkeepers: Martha Annan, Esther Agyeman, Kerrie McCarthy, Mawunyo Avugbey.

Defenders: Justice Twebeboah, Cecilia Hagan, Philicity Asuako, Blessing Agbomazi, Linda Amoako, Bridget Adu, Joyce Asamoah, Lucy Kwofie, Pearl Boamah, Asirifi Agyeamang, Machoura Boukhari.

Midfilders: Grace Asantewaa, Grace Acheampong, Olivia Anokye, Mary Entoa, Helena Obeng, Kunduck Peterson, Rafia Alhassan, Evelyn Badu, Zinatu Alhassan, Linda Obeng.

Forwards: Ruth Anima, Vivian A. Konadu, Sandra Owusu Ansah, Ernestina Ayisi, Comfort Yeboah, Mercy Deidei Okai.

Foreign-based:
Ernestina Abambila, Gifty Acheampong, Gifty Ayew, Kayza Massey, Kate Adu Agyemang, Belinda Anane
