Rivers Angels recorded the biggest win of match day six of the 2017-18 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season, after they trounced visiting Heartland Queens 4-0.

 Vivian Ikechukwu opened the flood gate of goals for the hosts on the 7th minute before youngster Rafiat Sule hit a double on both sides of the game to increase their lead to 3-0.

Ibinabo Georgewill added the icing on the cake on the 73rd minute as coach Edwin Okon's team claimed superiority over their opponents in front of their home fans in Port Harcourt.

Defending champions Nasarawa Amazons saw their unbeaten streak come to an end after they suffered their first league defeat, losing 1-0 to Abia Angels.

The only goal of the encounter came through on the 22nd minute when Blessing Echeipu converted from the spot after the referee had spotted a penalty.

The biggest clash of the day between Delta Queens and Bayelsa Queens failed to live up to fans expectations, as the match only produced one goal.

Delta Queens claimed the maximum points thanks to Brume Ikekhua's lone goal and which in turn, saw her taking her tally to four goals this term.

In Ilorin, hundred of fans were disappointed after seeing their home team Sure Babes slipped to a 2-0 loss to visiting Edo Queens thanks to Destiny Umeozor and Uche Ndeofor strikes.

Elsewhere, in-form player Tina Oyathelemi grabbed a 62nd minute winner for Sunshine Queens who defeated Adamawa Queens 1-0.

It was Oyathelemi's fourth goal of the season and it came in at the right time after both sides were locked on a goalless draw in the opening minutes of the game.

Lagos-based outfit Robo Queens continues to find it difficult to getting the job done playing at home following a 0-0 draw with Pelican Stars at the Legacy Pitch in Surulere.

Last year Aiteo Cup runners-up Ibom Angels earned a slim 1-0 victory over Confluence Queens of Lokoja courtesy of Precious Christopher's lone goal.

While encounter between Osun Babes and Jokodolu Babes which did not take place yesterday, has been rescheduled for Monday, May 28.
