Gambian defender Fatou Fatty has become a player of Magdeburg FFC after penning a deal with the German third division outfit.

Fatty has been training with the club for the past two months, while awaiting her international clearance which was cleared this week.

The Gambia international could make her debut for the team this Sunday when they battle Union Berlin in the promotional playoff matches in Germany.

Magdeburg finished second in Group 2 in the lower league but stand a chance of gaining promotion to the second tier if they win in the playoffs.

"I am very happy that I have signed for Magdeburg FFC after a successful trial with them," the former Red Scorpions skipper spoke from her base.

"I thank the Lord for a dream come true and hope that this is another new beginning of a long and successful journey in my football career."

She becomes the second Gambian female player that have signed contracts this year after Awa Demba joined a third division team in Italy.

While at Red Scorpions, Fatou Fatty captained the club to many silverwares in the local league. Her last game for the senior Scorpions was against Casa Sports in a friendly match at the Jarra Soma.
