There has been twists and turns in some quartets of the media regarding the host country for the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations.
Yesterday, news broke out in the media that CAF had stripped Ghana of the hosting rights for this year's Africa Women Cup of Nations after it was left unimpressed with the level of works at the venues.
It was also gathered that the West Africa nation was deemed unfit to take responsibility of playing host of the eight-team tournament following the bribery and corruption scandals that hit its football association recently.
That brought Kenya, Cameroon and South Africa into the picture as potential replacements for the competition, however,
FKF president Nick Mwendwa have said the country is no longer interested.
But now, the African football governing body through an official statement have denied media reports, stating the otherwise and that a final decision will be taken next month during CAF's Executive Committee meeting.
Ghana won the hosting rights of the continent's biggest women's soccer event on 27 September 2016, the first time they will host the biennial championship.
Black Queens as they are nicknamed, Ghana won bronze medal at the 2016 edition in Cameroon with a 1-0 defeat of South Africa in the third-place decider.
The Queens are yet to win the AWCON title since its inception, though, they have finished as runners-up on three occasions; in 1998, 2002 and 2006.
