Joseph Ndoko can not wait to get things started in his new position as head coach of Cameroon's senior women's football national side.
Ndoko who succeeded long-serving and former manager Enow Ngachu, will lead the Indomitable Lionesses to next month's COSAFA Women's Championship in South Africa.
The Central African country have been invited as guests at the COSAFA tournament scheduled between September 12 to 22, at the Nelson Mendela Bay.
The Cameroonian gaffer hopes to use competition to prepare his team for this year's Africa Women Cup of Nations, which will also serve as qualifiers to the 2019 Women's World Cup in France.
“These will be our first matches in the build-up to the African Women’s Championship and therefore the World Cup,” said Ndoko on

“The COSAFA competition is an important challenge for us and we will learn a great deal from taking part.”
Cameroon have been pitted in Group B with Zambia, Lesotho and Mozambique in the 12-nation tourney, where the top team in each pool and the best placed runner-up qualifies for the semifinals.
However, Ndoko is upbeat that the Lionesses are going to have a fine outing, despite his little or no knowledge about their opponents.
“I don’t know too much about the teams that we will have to face so we will have to learn quickly, but this is a good challenge for us.
“Certainly, meeting Zambia in the pool stages and perhaps South Africa in the knockout rounds will be a big test for us to see how ready we are for the African Women’s Championship.
“This is exactly what we want at this stage of our preparation, to be exposed to different styles and see how we can manage against them. We can learn a lot from playing teams in Southern Africa, and maybe East Africa too if we face [fellow guest nation] Uganda.
“I would like to thank COSAFA for giving us the opportunity to compete in their tournament, we promise to bring an attacking style to the pitch.”
In the meantime, hosts South Africa, Botswana, Madagascar and Malawi are housed in Group A, while Group C has Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Namibia and Uganda.
