The return leg matches of the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup were played over the weekend, with Al Masry, Raja Casablanca, AS Vita Club and Enyimba securing their semifinals tickets.

USM Alger (Algeria) 0-1 Al Masry (Egypt) 0-2 on aggregate.

Despite their good run in the Algerian Ligue 1 with four wins out of five games, USM Alger could not secure a positive result that would have guaranteed qualification. Last year the team was amongst the four best in the CAF Champions League.

Al Masry relied on Palestinian striker Mahmoud Wadi's goals in the two-legged encounters to advance to the next stage, performing better than last year 2nd round exit in the hands of Ugandan's KCCA.

Pharaohs all-time topsccorer Hossam Hassan and his team came out of the group stage unbeaten and have conceded only two goals in their last eight games of the competition.

Raja Casablanca (Morocco) 1-0 CARA Brazzaville (Congo) 3-1 on aggregate.

Mouhsinne Iajour's early goal was enough for Moroccan King's Cup holders, Raja Casablanca to secure a semi-final spot.

Former Villareal FC and Real Betis coach Juan Carlos Garrido team are the best attacking side in the competition so far with 26 goals in 12 games, and have striker Mahmoud Benhalib on top of the goalscoring chart with 8 goals.

CARA Brazzaville's 1-2 home loss in the reverse fixture a week ago was the club solitary defeat in the six  games played  at the Stade Alphonse Massamba-Débat of Brazzaville in the CAF Confederation Cup.

However the Congolese side only managed one away goal out of their six trips and are now on a run of five straight losses in all competitions.

RSB Berkane (Morocco) 1-1 AS Vita Club (DR Congo) 2-4 on aggregate

The Morroccans needed at least a 2-0 win to progress to the semi-final. The fourth minute opener from former AS Monaco, FC Lorient attacker and Burkina Faso international Alain Traore could have been enough, had it been Berkane scored a second goal.

Despite the non-qualification, coach Mounir Jaouani and his players can be proud of their quarter final appearance this year. Their last participation in 2015 in the competition ended with an exit in the preliminary round against Malian outfit Onze Créateurs.

AS Vita Club remain the lone DR Congo representative in both CAF club competitions. Florent Ibenge also coach of the Léopards of DRC is looking for his first club continental title after finishing as runner-up to ES Setif of Algeria in the 2014 CAF Champions League.

Enyimba 5-1 Rayon Sports (Rwanda) 5-1 on aggregate.

Following the goalless first leg, Enyimba knew a win was the sure way of qualification to the next phase of the cup competition and they did it superb fashion, defeating Rayon Sports 5-1.

Stanley Dimgba opener for Enyimba was cancelled out by Bonfilscaleb Bimenyimana equaliser, however, the Aba Elephants scored four more goals through Udo Utin, Sunday Adetunji, Joseph Osiadiaye, Isiaka Oladutonye to seal the emphatic win.

Rayon had three clear chances to score but they were denied by Enyimba's shot-stopper Theophilus Afelokhai on those occasions.

Rayon Sports on their part were at their first apperance at the quarter final of a CAF Club competition and were unbeaten in their last four CAF Confederation Cup matches prior to their defeat to Enyimba.
