Nigerian coach Salisu Yusuf has been hit with a one-year ban from football-related activities by the Ethics Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Salisu who has been found guilty of corruption in the discharge of his duties, was also fined the sum of $5000 by the NFF after the conclusion of their investigation.
The 56-year-old was caught on camera receiving an amount believed to be $1000 from undercover journalists posing as football agents to influence his players selection for a competition.
The video footage was made available by
BBC in July, although, the former Kano Pillars and Enyimba handler has denied committing any offense or wrongdoing.
"The NFF Committee on Ethics and Fair Play have placed a one–year ban from all football-related activities on Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Mr. Salisu Yusuf," read a statement from NFF Ethics Committee.
"Following its consideration of a complaint by the NFF as well as the Coach’s defence of a video documentary in which he was seen to accept the sum of $1,000 from an undercover reporter posing as a player’s agent. The coach must also pay a fine in the sum of $5,000 to the Federation within three months."
