Nigeria international Ini Umotong has taken positive from Brighton & Hove Albion's FA Women Super League loss to Chelsea yesterday afternoon.
Umotong played the entirety of the game as Albion fell 2-0 to the current WSL champions courtesy of two first-half goals by Fran Kirby and Erin Cuthbert.
It was Albion's fourth straight league defeat of the season and the Nigerian knew it was going be to tough playing against the West London outfit who showed quality from the kick off whistle.
Speaking to the club's website, the two-time capped Super Falcons player said; “Going into the game, we knew it was going to be tough. Chelsea are the champions and on their home turf, we always knew it was going to be a challenge.
“In the first half I don’t think we really found our feet and they came at us hard. In the second half it was a different game, I feel as though we were on the front foot and we created a lot more and had better chances than they did.”
The defeat leaves the Seagulls on the tenth position of 11-team English women's topflight division, having failed to earn a point this season.
The 24-year-old Umotong who is yet to register a goal so far, will be hoping to hit the ground running when Albion face Everton on Sunday, October 14.
