Nigeria international youngster Rasheedat Ajibade has completed a transfer move to Norwegian topflight club Avaldsnes IL.

Ajibade joins Avaldsnes on a two-year deal from Nigeria Women Football League side FC Robo Queens, the club announced today through their official website.

The 19 years old who has represented Nigeria at all levels, was part of the Super Falcons squad that won a ninth Africa Women's Cup of Nations earlier this month in Ghana.

She links up with Cameroonian star Gaelle Enganamouit at Avaldsnes and coach Lena Tyriberget believes the signing of the highly rated versatile attacker will help improve the team.

"When you look at her age and her merits - been central to the U20 team and the A national team, most recently in the Africa championship that Nigeria and Rasheedat won,” said Tyriberget.

"You realize that Rasheedat is a very promising Nigerian national team player. As a player type, she is typically either 8s or 10s on the pitch.

"She is good with ball, is forward-looking in the game and has good drive. She is a player for the future. We look forward to having Rasheedat with us for the next two years."

Aside from winning the 2018 AWCON title, the reigning Nigeria Young Player of the Year also helped her country to a third-place finish at the inaugural WAFU Women's Cup in Côte d'Ivoire.

Regarded as one of the best female football freestylers in Nigeria, Ajibade will be looking to make her mark in the Toppserien when the new league serves off in March 2019.
