Confluence Queens of Kogi have made changes in their technical crew by appointing Ogbonna Whyte as their new head coach.
Whyte was unveiled in a ceremony at the club's home ground, Confluence Stadium on Monday morning in Lokoja ahead of the 2018-19 Nigeria Women Premier League season.
The former Ibom Angels gaffer whose wealth of experience in the women's game is highly impressive, has been tasked by the club's chairman Abdul Sule to lead the team to success.
"We needed a coach with experience in women's football, Whyte is not new to the women's football system, having worked with the likes of Rivers and Ibom Angels.
"Our purpose of bringing him in is to ensure Confluence Queens competes with the best and win trophies," Sule told the media.
Whyte on his part, gave assurance of giving his best to the New Direction girls as they are nicknamed, in making sure they play at the highest level to the excitement of the fans.
He will be assisted by Sabo Okala and Musa Amorley as Confluence Queens looks to up their game in the Nigerian women's elite division and the Aiteo Cup.
He finished as Aiteo Cup runners-up with Ibom Angels twice, having won the country's oldest football competition five times as assistant coach at Rivers Angels.
