The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Poland in an international friendly on March 23 prior to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Polish Football Association (PZPN) have confirmed.
The two countries will be meeting for the first time at the senior level and the friendly will be used as part of their preparations towards the world cup finals in Russia.
Poland who will confront Senegal in Group H at the World Cup, sees Nigeria as similar opponents to the Teranga Lions.
"We can confirm that on March 23, we're playing with Nigeria, a decision on the venue of the match is yet to be made." PZPN spokesman Jakub Kwiatkowski said on
BBC Sports.
In a related story, the general secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mohammed Sanusi said the Eagles will play Egypt next year in another warm-up game.
Sanusi made this known while speaking on the defence of the NFF's 2018 budget with the House of Representatives Committee on Sports.
Although, the decision for the friendly is yet to be reached but the NFF's scribe did revealed venue for the encounter.
"We're looking at three countries. We want to play in Abuja. We haven't finalized, but Egypt is one of them," he said.
He also suggested that the Nigerian side will engage England in a high-profile tune-up match, in order to prepare the players for the tasks ahead of them in the Russia world cup finals.
"We plan to play a friendly against England in June, before the World Cup," Sanusi said on
Skysports, adding that the venue and other details of the match were still to be worked out.
