Steve Odey has announced himself in Europe after scoring his first goal for FC Zurich in the Super League in Switzerland.

Odey netted his side's lone goal on the 24th minute as they fell 2-1 at home to Luzern in the Swiss topflight league on Sunday.

Christian Schneuwly and Stefan Knezevic found the net for the visitors in the first half which saw the hosts suffered the loss by a slim margin.

Following the defeat, Zurich are now placed third on the 10-team Swiss first division table with 28 points after nine rounds of matches.

It was Odey's second start for his new club since joining from Nigeria Professional Football League side MFM FC.

Elsewhere, sensational striker Henry Onyekuru continued with his fine form for Anderlecht in the Belgian league by netting in his side's 3-1 defeat to Sporting Charleroi.

The hosts Anderlecht fell behind after Kaveh Rezaei converted a 16th minute penalty to put the visiting team in the lead.

They found themselves trailing by 2-0 when Sven Kums scored an own goal on the hour-mark of the encounter.

Cristian Benavente made it 3-0 for Charleroi on the 74th minutes to end Anderlecht's hopes of coming back into the game.

Onyekuru, however, grabbed a late consolatory goal, his ninth of the league campaign, with eight minutes to go.
