Nigeria international Tryonne Ebuehi has played down rumours that claimed he is on the verge of signing for Norwich City.

Dutch website Omroepwest writes that Ebuehi who is on the watch-list of SL Benfica and Olympiakos, confirmed that Norwich has made no contact with him yet.

The 21 years old current deal with ADO Den Haag expires in the summer, which means he will be a free agent and will be allowed to leave at the end of the season.

Although, Den Haag are desperate to extend his contract but the Super Eagles defender has warned the Dutch club he may walk away if they do not offer him an improved deal.

"I do not think the offer I received is very great. I need the club to appreciate me more," Ebuehi is quoted saying on Omroepwest.nl

"I'm enjoying myself here and I do not want to leave. I still learn everyday, I'm happy with the players and trainers and if I can sign here, I would really like to do that. But I am also just honest. I do not think the offer I received is very good."

"The most important thing now is the training camp. Of course I see messages on social media, so I cannot say I do not care about it at all.

"I think some rumours are pretty funny. Maybe I signed the contract in my sleep," he stated while reacting to reports that he had signed a pre-contract agreement with Norwich City.

British football writer Nick Mashiter on January 7 tweeted that the Nigerian was close to joining the Championship side after attending club's FA Cup clash against Chelsea.
