American club Houston Dash has completed the signing of Banyana Banyana attacker Thembi Kgatlana.

The South Africa international joins the National Women's Soccer League side from University of Western Cape Ladies Football Club in her hometown.

She becomes the third South African at Houston Dash after captain Janine van Wyk and Linda Motlhalo, who was recently signed by the club.

The talented forward had an impressive 2017, where she helped her country to winning a fourth COSAFA Women's Championship title and was named Player of the Tournament.

She was later nominated alongside Cameroonian Gabrielle Onguene and Asisat Oshoala from Nigeria for the 2017 CAF Africa Women's Player of the Year honour, though, she lost to the Nigerian.

Houston Dash who are under the guidance of former Banyana Banyana coach Vera Pauw, released an official statement about Kgatlana's signing.

"Kgatlana joins Houston after spending last year with the University of Western Cape in South Africa," the statement began.

"The forward represented South Africa in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, where she was coached by current Dash head coach, Vera Pauw."

"The forward won the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations Women's Championship with South Africa last year and earned Player of the Tournament honors."
