Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been given a bye in the qualifying campaign for the 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger Republic.
Nigeria who failed to qualify for the previous edition held in Zambia in 2017, will commence their 2019 qualifiers in the month of May.
The draw which was released yesterday by CAF, pooled Nigeria against the winner of the two-legged ties between Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone in the first round.
Guinea Bissau play host to Sierra Leone in the first leg qualifier in the weekend of 30-31 March, before travelling to Freetown for the decider in the weekend of April 20-22.
Flying Eagles will then face the winner in the first leg of the second round in an away clash slated between 11th-13th of May and trade tackles with their opponents in Nigeria on the weekend of May 18-20 in the return leg.
Should the Eagles scale through the second round hurdle, they will confront the winner of the Mauritania/Morocco versus Guinea tie in the third round.
According to CAF; Nigeria along with Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Senegal, Sudan, South Africa and Zambia have been exempted from the first round.
