Nigeria have reached the semifinals of the ongoing West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Women's Cup in Côte d'Ivoire, after they beat Senegal 3-0.
Sensational youngster Rasheedat Ajibade bagged a first half hat-trick as the Super Falcons saw off their Senegalese opponents in grand style at the Sports Park Stadium.
After a nervy start, Nigeria took the lead on the 21st minute through Ajibade who nodded home from Glory Ogbonna's corner kick.
The Robo Queens skipper was at the receiving end of Chioma Wogu's timely pass, before rounding off the goalkeeper to grab her brace of the encounter.
Still not done with the goalscoring party, she completed her hat-trick on 32nd minute after slotting in from a Ogbonna's flowing cross to hand Nigeria the maximum points.
In the Group B contest, Mali bounced back from their opening day loss to Nigeria to defeat Togo 8-0, as they kept their hopes of progressing to the next stage alive.
In Friday's matches, Ghana produced a scintillating performance to record their first victory of the competition with a 9-0 thrashing of Niger Republic.
Captain Portia Boakye, Janet Egyir and substitute Jane Ayieyam scored two goals apiece as Black Queens of Ghana made amends following a 1-0 defeat to Côte d'Ivoire in their opener.
Grace Asantewaa, Priscilla Okyere and Ruth Appiah accounted for the other goals for the Ghanaian national team.
Elsewhere in Group A, Simporé Salimata drew level for Burkina Faso with a last-minute strike in their 1-1 draw with hosts Côte d'Ivoire
Diakhité Binta had put the Ivorian team ahead in the opening minutes of the clash but they failed to hold on to their lead, thus allowing the Burkina Babes to equalise late in the game.
