Chinese Super League second tier outfit Henan Huishang has announced the signing of Nigerian defender Onome Ebi on a one-year deal.

Ebi who previously played for FK Minsk in Belarus, will be hoping to revive her football career in China following a 14-month injury lay-off.

She has been ruled out of action since suffering an injury in the final match of the 2016 Africa Women's Cup of Nations between Nigeria and hosts Cameroon.

At Minsk, the former Bayelsa Queens player won one Women Premier League title, two Women's Cup and one Super Cup before her contract ended in 2016.

The 34-year-old who made her UEFA Women's Champions League debut in 2012 for Atasehir Belediyespor, has also suited out for Swedish topsides Piteå IF, Djurgårdens IF and Sunnanå SK.

The Super Falcons star represented Nigeria in the 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

As a member of Nigeria's senior women football side, Ebi played in five Africa Women's Cup of Nations finals in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016; winning on three occasions.

Expressing her delight, the reliable defender who becomes the second Nigerian after Asisat Oshoala to move to the Asian country, said it has been a long journey to recovery.
