Bayelsa Queens and Sunshine Queens will look to continue their fine starts to the season when week three matches of the 2017-18 Nigeria Women Football League are played today.

 Bayelsa Queens will entertain Ibom Angels at the Samson Siasia Sports Stadium in a bid to extend their lead on Group A table log, having amassed six points from two games.

Leading the way for the Yenagoa-based female club is captain Joy Jerry who tops the chart with three goals and have been impressive in the team's pursuit for honour this term.

Jerry along netted a brace in their 2-0 defeat of Confluence Queens in their league opener and scored a late winner as they pipped resilient Edo Queens 2-1 last time out.

She along with Osarenoma Igbinovia and new signee Joy Jegede will be on their toes when they trade tackles with their visitors from Akwa Ibom state later today.

Sunshine Queens will be up against Pelican Stars as coach Wemimo Olarenwaju's charges aims to make it three wins from three matches.

The Owena Mermaids as they are referred to thrashed Abia Angels and Jokodolu Babes 4-1 and 3-0 respectively in their first-two encounters in the NWFL.

The Akure-based outfit are inspired by the trio of Lola Philips, Patience Agbokhade and Tina Oyatheleme who have two goals apiece to their names.

They comfortably occupy the first position in Group B with six points, four ahead of second-placed Nasarawa Amazons in the two week old Nigerian women's topflight league.

In Benin City, Edo Queens and Heartland Queens will face off at the Sporting Complex of the University of Benin in a must win clash for both teams, having got one point each.

Confluence Queens host Rivers Angels, Sure Babes welcomes Delta Queens, Jokodolu Babes trade tackles with Robo Queens, Osun Babes takes on Nasarawa Amazons and Adamawa Queens files out against Abia Angels.
