Former France international Henri Michel has died at the age of 70, the French Footballers' Union (UNFP) have announced.
Michel scored four goals in 58 appearances for France during his active days and managed the French national football team between 1984-1988.
He led France to winning gold at the men's football event of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and they also got to the semifinals of the 1986 FIFA World Cup.
"Henri Michel, a colossus of French football, left us this morning", the UNFP tweeted on Twitter, while adding their "sincere condolences to his family and friends".
The Frenchman who won three league titles at Nantes as a player, also coached Cameroon, Morocco, Tunisia Côte d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Kenya and the United Arab Emirates.
At club level, he had spells at Egyptian giants Zamalek, Raja Casablanca of Morocco South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns as well as Paris Saint German in the French Ligue 1.
