The 2017-18 Nigeria Women Football League season entered its week three which recorded six wins and two draws, with Confluence Queens claiming one of the biggest win.

Confluence Queens of Lokoja upset bookmakers after they stunned league favourites Rivers Angels 1-0 in front of their supporters at the Confluence Stadium on Wednesday.

Titilayo Aweda provided the lone goal on the 50th minute as Confluence picked up their first win after three games and handed Rivers Angels their first defeat of the campaign.

At the Soun Stadium in Ogbomosho, newcomers Jokodolu Babes edged out Lagos-based outfit Robo Queens 2-0 in a superb fashion to claim their first maximum points of the Nigerian women's topflight league.

Zainab Olapade and Temitope Owoeye were on target for Jokodolu who made sure that their visitors left off in disappointment and without a point.

Adamawa Queens were 1-0 winners over Abia Angels courtesy of Oluchi Nwachukwu's goal struck on the 19th minute.

Nneka Julius was the star girl of the week when she scored thrice in Edo Queen's 4-0 hammering of Heartland Queens in Benin City to become the player to score the first hat trick of the term.

Peace Efih set the ball rolling in the first half, her second goal of the season, during the encounter which took place at the Sports Complex of the University of Benin.

Playing at the Kwara State Sports Complex in Ilorin, Delta Queens accounted for downfall of Sure Babes, 2-0, after scoring twice within thirteen in the first half.

Falconets forward Brume Ikekhua broke the deadlock on the 25th minutes and thereafter Maryann Ohadiwe doubled their advantage few moments before the break as Delta Queens posted their first victory of season.

Super Falcons forward Anam Imo bagged a brace to inspire Nasarawa Amazons to the victory, which happens to be their second of the campaign.

Ibom Angels of Akwa Ibom state failed to score in their third successive game after producing a fine performance to hold in-form Bayelsa Queens to barren draw.

Coach Whyte Ogbonna's side have so far garnered three points from three encounters in the three weeks old NWFL having settled for a 0-0 stalemate with Edo Queens and Delta Queens in their previous outings.

In the rescheduled match held on Thursday, Sunshine Queens could not live up to expectations after they were forced to a 1-1 draw by hosts Pelican Stars.

Opeyemi Aiyeniberu's own goal was cancelled out by Tina Oyathelemhi who increased her tally to three goals as the both teams shared the spoils on the day.
