Nigeria's Falconets yesterday arrived in the Austrian city of Tirol for their final round of preparations towards this year's FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in France.

The Nigerian delegation which comprised of 25 players, coaching crew and Nigeria Football Federation's technical director, Siji Lagunju departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja aboard an Air France flight on Friday night and flew through Paris and Munich before landing in Tirol.

Lagunju, a former Nigeria international told thenff.com that the 2010 and 2014 runners-up will spend 12 days at the Explorer Hotel in Tirol for their final training sessions, where 21 players will emerge for the world cup finals.

"The Falconets are scheduled to play two friendly matches during the training camp. These are against FC Bergheim Austria and Wacker Innsbruck FC Austria," he said.

"The delegation will depart Austria for France on 2nd August ahead of the finals starting on Sunday, 5th August."

The Nigerian team headed by coach Chris Danjuma and his assistants Wemimo Matthew, Mansur Abdullahi, Lateef Yusuf and Precious Dede have been housed in Group D with Germany, Haiti and China.

On their road to France 2018, the Falconets thrashed Tanzania 9-0 on aggregate, Morocco 6-0 home and away and South Africa 8-0 over two legs during the continental qualifiers.
