Liverpool are reportedly set to secure the future of Taiwo Awoniyi by agreeing new terms of a five-year deal for the Nigerian youngster.

This is according to Teamtalk which claimed that Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the situation of the 20 years old whizkid.

The report went on to state that Barcelona and Inter Milan have also made enquiries for Awoniyi who starred when Nigeria won the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

The Nigerian joined the Reds in 2015 from ex-Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana's Imperial Soccer Academy for a fee of £400,000 but has had his Anfield career stalled by work permit issues.

He was immediately loaned out to Germany's FSV Frankfurt and NEC Nijmegen of Holland during his first-two seasons away from the Premier League club.

Last term, the six times Nigeria U23 level capped player had a more productive outing in Belgium where he suited out for Royal Excelsior Mouscron on another loan spell and netted 10 goals with seven assists.

And now, he looks set for a potential two-year loan stint at French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco as Liverpool plans to keep hold of a player they see as a future prospect.

If he excel in France after two years and pushes on for a senior national team call-up, Liverpool will have a great chance of securing his work permit.
