With less than five months to the commencement of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, renovation works have began in match venues. 

Ghana will play host to seven other African countries when the AWCON finals is held between November 17 to December 1 at the Accra Sports and Cape Coast stadia.

According to a report filed by Football Ghana, Green Grass Technology have been given the job to relay the pitches of the El Wak Stadium, Robert Mensah Sports Stadium, Ndoum Stadium as well as the Accra Sports and Cape Coast stadia.

El Wak and Ndoum stadia will serve as the training pitches for the participating teams, while matches of the tournament will be played at the Accra Sports and Cape Coast stadiums.

Works are currently ongoing to revamp the Accra Sports Stadium, nevertheless, all pitches are expected to be ready by October 2018.

Hosts Ghana, defending champions Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia, Algeria and Mali will compete in the eight-team event which serves as qualifiers to the 2019 FIFA Women World Cup in France.
