Nigeria's losing streak to Germany at the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup continued on Monday, after the team opened her 2018 campaign with a defeat.

The Nigerian side who are a household name at the cadet youth championship, were beaten 1-0 by their German opponents at the Stade de Marville.

Nigeria, however, came close to restoring her image when her biggest chance fell to Peace Efih, but the Edo Queens midfielder's effort went off target as the Germans held on to the vital win.

In other yesterday's results, China pipped debutants Haiti 2-1, Spain hammered Paraguay 4-1, while Japan edged out USA 1-0 in a keenly contested encounter.
