Nigeria international William Troost-Ekong has completed a move to Udinese, the Italian outfit have announced on their official website.

Troost-Ekong joins Udinese on four-year deal from Bursaspor of Turkey where he spent about one year after joining the club from Belgian side KAA Gent.

The 24-year-old who scored thrice in 32 appearances for Bursaspor, could make his debut in the Serie A this Sunday against Parma following his inclusion in a 22-man squad.

He played all three matches for Nigeria during the group stages of the recently held FIFA World Cup in Russia and has described his move to Italy as "a great summer."

"It's been a long journey and this move to Udinese completes a great summer for my career," the Dutch-born player tells BBC Sport 

"I have had amazing support around me to get here, including at the national team and club level. I thank God and everyone for the support.

"I played in my first World Cup, became a father for the first time and now have the chance to begin a new chapter in Italian football," he added.

A former Netherlands U20 international, Troost-Ekong began his career at Tottenham Hotspur and later suited out for FC Groningen, FC Dordrecht, FK Haugesand.

He debuted for the Super Eagles of Nigeria on June 13, 2005 against Chad and went on to win bronze medal for his country at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
