It was a handful of football supporters at Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt who came out to watch the battle of David versus Goliath in one of the 2018 Aiteo Cup round of 64 ties.

(Heartland FC of Owerri)
Confine FC who were dubbed as the underdogs started lively with Emem Peace and Joseph Bassey dictating the play of the game with quick touch of passes as Heartland could not contain the duo.

The Ikot Ekpene-based outfit drew first blood with a goal from Mboutidem Charles in the 17th minute when he broke into the opposition box and fired a low shot that that Heartland goal keeper failed to deal with it.

Heartland, however, fought back into the contest and restored their image from a swift counter-attack on the 36th minute, having made the most of their chances.

The second half was still drab with no further goals as both sides missed lots of scoring opportunities as it dragged to the third quarter of the game.

The referee ended the game with both teams sharing the spoils with a 1-1 scoreline. This led to penalties.

History was made as the team from Ikot Ekpene secured their passage into the next stage of the cup competition with a 4-2 win on penalty-shoot out.
