As part of measures to raise the standards of women's football, FIFA will start funding business-class flights for some teams travelling to France for the 2019 Women's World Cup.
Head of FIFA's women's soccer governance, Emily Shaw told a women in sports law conference yesterday in Switzerland that teams which needed to travel longer than four hours to France, will be fly business courtesy of FIFA.
And also, the total prize money for the tournament with "significantly increase" from the $15m shared among 24 teams at the 2015 edition in Canada.
The amount for the world cup finals will be confirmed by the FIFA Council during a meeting in Rwanda from the 25th to 26th of October, the FIFA official said.
The world football governing body has been urged to close the gap between the women's and men's World Cups in a new four-year cycle of tournaments and commercial deals starting from next year.
In the current cycle, reigning world champions France earned $38m from FIFA, an amount higher than the $2m USA got their success three years ago.
FIFA has also pledged to share $440m in prize money among the 32 national teams that will qualify for the 2022 men's world cup in Qatar.
They offered "business-class return flights for 50 people" to all men's team delegation at the 2018 mundial in Russia, though, the new pledge to women does not cover all teams going to France.
The standard for next year's women's world cup will also be raised as opposing teams do not have to stay at the same hotel and FIFA are planning to pay preparation cost for the teams.
FIFA also wants to compensate women’s clubs for releasing players to national team duty for the World Cup.
