(Lyon players celebrate after scoring a goal)

Olympique Lyon posted a 2-0 win over Alvadnes in Norway as matches in UEFA Women's Champions League round of 32 took place on Wednesday and Thursday.

Lyon, the reigning cup holders, met a resolute Alvadnes defence in the first half as the two teams missed a couple of goal scoring opportunities.

The French club, however, broke through after the break, with Amandine Henry and Amel Majri getting on the scorer-sheet for the four-time champions.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, English champions Chelsea were 5-0 winners over Sarajevo after making a positive start with a sixth minute goal by Millie Bright.

Drew Spence, Maria Thorisdottir, Ji So-Yun and Adelina Engman were also on target in the course of the game as Chelsea proved superior over their hosts.

Last year beaten finalists Wolfsburg won 1-0 at Thor/KA courtesy of UEFA Women's Player of the Year, Pernille Harder lone strike on the run of play.

In their maiden appearance in Europe's finest women's football event, Juventus drew 2-2 at home with Brøndby, whereas PSG beat St.Pölten 4-1 to take a comfortable lead heading into the return leg.

Bayern Munich recorded the biggest win, thumping Spartak Subotica 7-0, Barcelona fell 3-1 at BIIK-Kazygurt, while Manchester City earned an away goal at Atletico Madrid with a 1-1 draw.
