But, there were no such joy for two-time semifinalist Manchester City, debutants Juventus and Kazakhstani outfit BIIK Kazygurt.

Eugénie Le Sommer and Ada Hegerberg netted two goals each after Amel Majri's opener, as Holders Lyon cruised past Avaldsnes 5-0 to record a 7-0 aggregate win.

English side Chelsea completed an 11-0 home and away victory over SFK 2000 after scoring six times in return leg, where Fran Kirby's double was followed up by Drew Spence, Maren Mjelde, Hannah Blundell, Erin Cuthbert's strikes.

Last year's runners-up Wolfsburg were 2-0 winners over Thor/KA courtesy of Pernille Harder and Ella McLeod goals on the 28th and 66th minute of the contest.

Making their debut in the European elite women's club competition, Italy's Juventus fell 1-0 to Brøndy from Denmark in the second leg following a 2-2 draw in the reserve fixture.

While Atletico Madrid stunned Manchester City 2-0 to progress to the next round 3-2 on aggregate, after Silvia Meseguer and Lumida found the net for the Spanish club.
