Presently in Cameroon for an 8-hour visit, CAF's president Ahmad Ahmad was received this Tuesday by Cameroon's head of state, Paul Biya.

CAF Vice-president Ivorian Jacques Anouma, Indomitables Lions legend and all-time top goalscorer Samuel Eto'o and the President of the Normalisation Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation, Dieudonné Happi were also part of the delegation invited to the Unity Palace.

Speaking to the press after the exchange of pleasantry with Biya, Ahmad reiterated that CAF have never thought of a Plan B, and for sure Cameroon will be the hosting country for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

"I want to first of all thank Samuel Eto'o who had this initiative," the Malagasy began

"We do not have the ability to retrieve the hosting rights of the competition to Cameroon. It is for the country to confirm if they are ready or not to organise the event.

"They are the ones to tell give us some time to finish the works or we are unable to host the competition.

"Cameroonians themselves are responsible for this situation of uncertaintity. For example some of them have phoned me and said that the road leading from the Nsimalen Airport in Yaounde to the Unity Palace home of the Head of State is full of potholes, unpracticable. But how did I manage to come here and meet Mr Paul Biya?"

The other point of the meeting with president Biya was the switching of the ownership of the CAF Excellence Center in Mbankomo to the Cameroonian government.

"I gave instruction to my Vice-president to see how Cameroon can effectively become the owner of the CAF Excellence Center. It is a wish for Mr Paul Biya to offer this present to the entire Youth community of his country". Ahmad said.

The installation has been used by some African football teams in preparation for different competitions.

Burkina Faso stayed there in 2012, the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2017, and South Africa women's football team has had two stints there.

Many seminars organised by the African football governing body have also been held in the Center.

After leaving the Unity Palace, Ahmad had a final meeting with Cameroon Sports minister Bidoung Mkpatt over his nationwide inspection visits.

He also instructed FECAFOOT board to hold the General Assembly of the institution by October 10.
