The best thing to ever happen to Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) is having Aisha Falode as chairman, said Moses Bako.

Bako, a women's football advocate was speaking about the present and future of the NWFL, while commending Falode for rebranding the league since taking over 20 months ago.

According to him, the Nigerian women's topflight division, under the leadership of the veteran broadcaster, has grown in heaps and bound, and has seen fans returned to the stadium.

"First of all, I'll like to commend Aisha Falode and her team of experts for the wonderful job they have done in repositioning the country's women soccer league to where it is today," he began in an interview with Ultima Sports Net

"I'm extremely excited to see the new innovations and transformations she has brought into the league, I'm mean, the women's game is now being discussed on television, radio, social media and the print.

"We now have a consistent and competitive league just as the men's, where there are no more unnecessary walk-overs.

"The league signed a Memorandum of Understanding with La Liga. It has a colourful Super 4 and Championship Shield events, all these have been made possible by Falode."

Speaking further, the chairman of Confluence Queens of Kogi Supporters Club, describe the NWFL as platform that has presented players opportunity to education, following the introduction of mentoring programmes.

"As a female player, you know you can't only focus on football alone, because there are many opportunities after playing the game. Like becoming a coach, scout, pundit, agent; e.t.c."

He also tasked the NWFL board to do more, in taking the league to greater heights and making it the finest in Africa, so that it would attract foreign players.

"Just like Oliver Twist, I want more from NWFL board. I want to see a Nigerian women's league where foreign players come to play, just like how we used to have it when the topflight division first started," he ended.
