Super Eagles star Leon Balogun has joined the growing list of players who have pledged at least 1% of their salaries to champion the ever-expanding social movement in football, Common Goal.
Common Goal is a global initiative created by Manchester United's Spanish midfielder Juan Mata and it is aimed at raising money for football-related charities.
Balogun, a Brighton & Hove Albion player becomes the first African in the Premier League to donate to the course and have said he is more than happy to support the less fortunate in their communities.
"Joining Common Goal gives me the opportunity to actively help and support people in their communities and open up doors to a better life," he said on

"This gives me so much joy because as footballers we can do a lot to make social impact around the world.
"I feel we could be doing more to help those who are less fortunate."
The 30-year-old lanky defender joined Brighton in May from German side Mainz 05 and have made six appearances for the club, scoring his first goal in a 3-1 defeat of Crystal Palace.
On the home front, he has played 25 times for Nigeria's Super Eagles since making his debut four years ago in an international friendly match with Mexico.
