Louis Saha has backed his former France international teammate Zinedane Zidane to be the best candidate to replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
United dismissed Mourinho last Tuesday following a poor start to the season marred with the Portuguese having issues with several key players of the team, including Anthony Martial, Antonio Valencia and Paul Pogba.
Club favorite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken charge at Old Trafford on an interim capacity until the end of the campaign, with the Premier League giants searching for a permanent replacement.
Speaking with
Omnisport, Saha believes Zidane who guided Real Madrid to three consecutive Champions League trophies before quitting the Spanish side in May, will be a success at the Theatre of Dreams.
"For me, I am a supporter of Zidane in relation to the man. He was an exceptional player, the coach, there is no equivalent," the two-time Premier League champion began.
"He breathes football, he is a passionate person, who has all the qualities to be respected. He knows how to balance attack and defence.
"At Real Madrid, he had three offensive monsters, and he has to make the link with the defence. It's huge.
"For me it's the best choice for United. I think he will have the support of the supporters, the staff, the president because he deserves it. And we're going to give him time."
Manchester United remain sixth on the league log with 29 points from 18 games despite Solskjaer leading the club to a 5-1 rout of Cardiff City on Saturday.
The team will return to action tomorrow, December 26, when they entertain strugglers Huddersfield Town in a league encounter at Old Trafford.
