Cameroon are set to commence preparations towards their second participation at the FIFA Women's World Cup.

After their bronze winning feat at the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, the Indomitable Lionesses will look forward to the women's world cup finals positively.

Newly appointed coach Alain Djeunfa has invited 32 players to camp as the Cameroonian team holds their first training session since their AWCON third-place victory over Mali.

Djeunfa who recently replaced Joseph Ndoko included a large number of local players on the list, as most of the Lionesses' regular starters are away from home due to club duty.

He, however, extended call-ups to 34-year-old veteran goalkeeper Annette Ngo Ndom and eight others that were part of the bronze winning team.

While young forwards Flora Kameni and Viviane Mefire who represented the country at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay last year, were surprisingly included.

Following an impressive debut outing at the biggest women's football event in Canada in 2015 where they got to the knockout stage, Cameroon will be aiming to go one step further in reaching the quarter or semifinals.

They have been drawn in Group E alongside Canada, New Zealand and the Netherlands of this year's edition taking place in France from June 7 - July 7.
