The trio of Ghanian midfielder Elizabeth Addo, Thembi Kgatlana and Linda Motlhalo of South Africa have left American clubs Seattle Reign and Houston Dash.
Addo mutually terminated her contract with Reign, the club she joined in January 2018 from from Swedish side Kvarnsveden.
The 25-year-old is reportedly seeking a fresh challenge in Asia after a loan spell in Australia with Western Sydney Wanderers,
where she netted two goals in eight games in the W-League.
Confirming the news of her contract termination, Reign club's president Bill Predmore stated that the former Rivers Angels and Ferencvarosi player "has an opportunity to play in China" and "has asked for assistance in making the move."
"Elizabeth informed us that she has an opportunity to play in China that will be beneficial to her and her family," Reign FC president Bill Predmore said on
club website.
"She asked for our assistance in making the move and we are supportive of her request. We appreciate her efforts on behalf of Reign FC last season and wish her well."
Prior to her move to the NWSL outfit, the Ghanian captain made 19 appearances for Kvarnsveden in Damallsvenskan, scoring five times in the process.
She represented her country at the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations on home soil, where the Black Queens of Ghana failed to reach the semifinals after a 2-1 loss to Mali in their final group match.
In the same vein, Banyana Banyana pair of Kgatlana and Motlhalo saw their contracts terminated by Dash amid interest from clubs in Chinese Women Super League.
The duo who recently helped South Africa qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, were linked to China according to rumours.
They spent the 2018 football season with the U.S-based outfit, where Kgatlana scored two goals and added three assists in 16 outings, while Motlhalo netted and assisted once in 21 matches.
Kgatlana, the reigning African Women Player of the Year and her South African teammate Motlhalo joined the American side from University of Western Cape and JVW FC respectively in February 2018.
In a related news, 22 years old Kgatlana has revealed she and Motlhalo are on the verge of joining news clubs after their exit from Houston Dash.
"We cannot say much at the moment but but we are very close to confirming new clubs as negotiations are at a very advanced stage and we could sign very soon," Kgatlana told
