Coach of South Africa women's U20 team, Maud Khumalo has picked a 23-player squad for their forthcoming 2018 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifying matches against Namibia.

Basetsana will entertain their opponents next Sunday before travelling away for the second leg at the Windhoek's Sam Nujoma Stadium on September 30.

Khumalo's squad includes players from the High Performance Centre academy, as well as players that were selected from different corners of the country and from the recently held talent search initiative by the SAFA Women's Technical Team.

The South Africans are scheduled to tackle Swaziland in a friendly match on Thursday evening as they intensify their readiness for world cup qualifiers.

“We have selected a squad of very talented players who we believe can do well. There is still some work that needs to be done with the players but hopefully the friendly match against Swaziland will give us the opportunity to identify our shortcomings” said Khumalo on SAFA.net

 Khumalo, a former Banyana Banyana player have been saddled with the responsibilities of qualifying South Africa for their first-ever FIFA U20 women's world cup finals.

She would be assisted by her former teammate Simphiwe "Shorty" Dludlu who is the U17 team coach, as they hope to pick one of the tickets for the biennial women's football fiesta set to take place in France between September 7th and 26th, 2018.
