Captain of Super Eagles home-based squad Ikechukwu Ezenwa have said Nigeria will win the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco.
Nigeria finished third at their first appearance at the CHAN finals in South Africa 2014, a feat Ezenwa is hopeful that he and his teammates can surpass.
He also stated that the Nigerian side have been working hard to better their last international assignment, after they lost 4-1 to hosts Ghana in the West Africa Football Union Cup of Nations final earlier this year.
"Last time we played in the final of the WAFU Cup of Nations but unfortunately we lost. Now we are building on improving on that attitude that helped us reach the final when CHAN begins in Morocco next month," said Ezenwa on

"Yes we can (win the CHAN). At present there is solidarity in the team, we have agreed to stand with each other. Right now that is our goal.
"Immediately we arrived camp (for the NPFL Invitational Tournament) we had a meeting, just like before we left for the WAFU Cup, we agreed that it is 'operation must reach the final.'
"So among ourselves we have set that target of going out there to make our nation proud."
Nigeria will play Libya, Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea in the preliminary stage of the fifth edition of the Nations Cup meant for players on the continent.
