Nigeria international striker Anthony Ujah has resigned for Bundesliga outfit Mainz 05 after leaving Liaoning FC of China.

Ujah pens a three-and-a-half contract which runs through till the summer of 2021 for an undisclosed fee in his second spell at the club.

The 27 years old defended the colours of Mainz 05 in the 2011-12 season where he scored twice in 17 games before completing a switch to fellow German side Cologne.

"I'm extremely happy to return to Mainz, I'm looking forward to playing in the Bundesliga again," he told the club's website.

"I have only good memories of my time here [at Mainz], My ambition is to help the team from the second half of the season to reach the goals of the club."

His 36 goals in 102 matches for Cologne earned him a move to Werder Bremen in 2015-16 campaign and he hit the net 14 times in 37 appearances.

In July 2016, the forward who has six caps for Nigeria left Germany for a fresh challenge thus signing for Liaoning FC.

He has played for Nigerian side Warri Wolves and Lillestrom of Norway in the beginning of his career.
