Nigeria senior women's football national side will end the year as the top rated team in Africa, this is according to the final FIFA Women's World Ranking of 2017 released today.

The latest global ranking sees Nigeria drop two places to number 37, but remains the best team on the continent despite her inactivity in the last 12 months.

The Super Falcons have not played a single game since winning the Africa Women Cup of Nations in 2016 in Cameroon under former coach Florence Omagbemi.

Her closest rivals Ghana, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa complete the top-five teams on the continent.
