Chairman of Confluence Queens Supporters Club and Convener of the Save Women Football Foundation, Moses Bako has described Nigeria's win over South Africa "as a perfect birthday gift".

First half goals from Rasheedat Ajibade and Anam Imo earned Falconets a 2-0 win over Basetsana in the first leg, final round 2018 FIFA U20 Women World Cup qualifiers.

Bako who turns 52 today, says he is happy that the Nigerian girls were able to overpower their counterparts despite the unfriendly weather condition.

"Firstly, I want to congratulate the coaching crew and the players for a job well done, and also for making Nigerians proud of them," he tells Ultima Sports Net

"I can not describe how I'm feeling at the moment. Personally, it's a thing of joy for me because I'm a year older today and my players (Falconets) have put a smile on my face.

"It's a perfect birthday gift for me and now I can confidently say that Nigeria have qualified for the world cup finals, because I don't see the South Africans beating us at our backyard."

Nigeria who have competed in every edition of the biennial women's soccer competition since it began in 2002 will be looking to complete the job at home .

The return leg encounter will be played in two weeks time with the overall winners qualifying as one of Africa's representative in France.
