Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers are reportedly interested in former Everton and Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe.
British media outlet
Sunderland Echo writes that Bolton sees the Nigeria international as a potential replacement for Gary Madine who joined Cardiff City in last month.
Anichebe who scored three goals in 18 appearances for Sunderland in the 2016-17 season, is now a free agent after seeing out his contract at Chinese side Beijing Enterprises.
The 29-year-old is familiar with the English football having also turned out for West Bromwich Albion and he could be set to return to England as Bolton looks to boost their survival hopes.
Anichebe spent seven years at Goodison Park after he rose through Everton youth set-up before leaving the club in 2013.
He debuted for Super Eagles in 2008, scoring once in 11 matches and he was part of Nigeria's U23 team that won silver at the men's football event of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
