The sum of $32,000 has been approved by the Federal Government of Ghana as reward package for Black Queens after they won the maiden edition of the WAFU Women's Cup in Côte d'Ivoire.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, announced the reward for the team during his interaction with the media, tagged "Meet The Press" on Tuesday.

According to the Minister, the 21 players that represented the country at the showpiece in Abidjan will receive $1,000 each, while members of the coaching crew gets $2,000 each.

Black Queens emerged champions of the inaugural sub-regional competition after defeating host Côte d'Ivoire 1-0 courtesy of Janet Egyir's first half goal.

In the meantime, the team are expected to reassemble in preparation for their forthcoming friendly matches with Morocco and former World champions Japan.

Later this year, Ghana will host seven other countries from the continent for the 11th edition of the Africa Women's Cup of Nations from November 17 to December 1 in the cities of Accra and Cape Coast.
