Ace female footballer Tabitha Chawinga has been crowned 2017 Sportswoman of the Year in her native country, Malawi.
Tabitha who was outstanding last year, scoring goals for club and country, made the announcement of her award on social media yesterday.
The 21-year-old uploaded the photo of her latest recognition on her Facebook page, while appreciating friends and fans for their unwavering supports.
"Malawi Sports Award 2018. Sports woman award of the year. Family, friends and fans we have another award. Your support is much appreciated," she wrote.
Chawinga finished as Malawi topscorer with eight goals at the 2017 COSAFA Women's Championship in Zimbabwe, though, the team failed to get pass the group stages of the competition.
She continued with her goalscoring form last term in the Damallsvenskan, bagging 25 league goals which saw her winning the Swedish Women's Football Best Forward of the Year honour.
Her impressive performances in Sweden caught the attention of Chinese club Jiangsu Suning who eventually signed the Malawian on a two-year deal, thus ending her association with relegated Kvarnsveden IK.
