Newly appointed head coach of Ethiopia women's team Selam Zeray has named a 36-player provisional squad ahead of the 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations qualifiers.

 The squad comprises of 19 youngsters that recently represented the country at the U17 and U20 junior levels, mixed with experienced players.

 The first round of the AWCON qualication campaign will be played from the 2nd to 10th of April and it sees the Lucy of Ethiopia confronting Libya.

Ethiopia are bidding to qualify for their fourth continental championship appearance after 2002, 2004 and 2012 finals; while Libya are yet to feature in the competition since its inception.

The aggregate winner progresses to the second and final stage qualifiers to face either Senegal or Algeria for a ticket to this year's event in Ghana.
