In preparation towards next month 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations qualification series, Kenya women's national team are billed to play Zambia in a friendly match.

The Harambee Starlets of Kenya and Zambia's Shepolopolo will use the game slated for March 25 at the Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe to prepare for their upcoming qualifiers.

Kenya will host Uganda in the first round of the 2018 AWCON qualifiers between April 2nd to 10th, while Zambia face Tanzania in an away encounter.

The overall winners of the Kenya/Uganda tie will advance to the final phase of the qualification campaign to take on two-time champions Equatorial Guinea.

And so will the aggregate winners between Zambia and Tanzania face either Zimbabwe or Namibia in June for a place at the finals in Ghana.

Meanwhile, coach Richard Kanyi recently named a 31-player squad that reported to camp in Machakos on March 5 ahead of the national assignment for the Kenyan senior women's side.

"We believe the Zambia friendly will give us the much-needed opportunity to gauge ourselves ahead of our AWCON qualifiers against Uganda," said Kanyi on Kenya Football Federation official website.
