Nigerian female football star Desire Oparanozie has emerged winner of the Women's Soccer United  (WSU) Goal of the Month award.

Oparanozie won the accolade for the month of February after seeing off strong challenges from top contenders in the women's game across the globe.

The EA Guingamp of France striker netted a superb goal on the 89th minute, which turned out to be the match winner in her team's 3-1 defeat of Paris FC in a  Feminine Division 1 clash.

The Super Falcons player who had equalised for Guingamp in the first half, unleashed a stunning shot from center of the field to grab her brace of the game.

Her long-range effort saw her scooped the award ahead of Dominique Janssen, Georgia Stanway, Erika Vázquez, Dzsenifer Marozsan, Sarah Garcia, Natasa Andonova and Claire Lavogez.
